If you are looking for a job, registering as unemployed in the database of the public employment service can bring you a number of benefits when you have found a job. The condition is that you announce the placement in time and take into account the advice of the employment advisors.

From courses to learn new trades, which you can take for free, to scholarships offered within various projects or bonuses offered at the time of employment, the advantages of registering in the AJOFM database, as an unemployed person looking for a job, they are multiple and, mostly, little known to the unemployed. You can find out about everything when you register as a person looking for a job at the Employment and Training Agency.
For example, the unemployed registered in the AJOFM database are granted, if they find a job, various premiums. You need to apply for them and meet certain specific conditions to benefit from a measure designed to stimulate the unemployed to be interested in spending as short periods of unemployment as possible.
Activation premium, installation premium, relocation premium, placement premium…
Activation premium – it can be requested by the unemployed registered with the employment agencies for at least 30 days and who do not benefit from unemployment benefits. The condition is to be employed full-time, for a period of more than 3 months, after the date of registration with the employment agencies. The activation premium is worth 1,000 lei and is not taxed.
Supplementing the employee's income by granting 30% of the amount of the unemployment allowance – is one of the most requested measures, says the head of the Slatina Local Agency within the Olt AJOFM, Costinel Gheorghe. It benefits the people who have been established the right to unemployment allowance and who are employed full-time and, as a result of the employment, the payment of unemployment allowance ceases. They benefit from this income supplement from the moment of employment until the end of the period for which they were entitled to receive unemployment benefits. The amount is granted monthly, from the unemployment insurance budget, and represents 30% of the amount of the unemployment allowance, established and, as the case may be, updated according to the law.
Insertion premium – it is granted to graduates of educational institutions and special schools, at least 16 years old, who, within 60 days of graduation, register with employment agencies and work full-time for a period of 12 months old. The insertion premium is equal to 3 times the value of the reference social indicator of unemployment insurance and employment stimulation in force on the date of employment. The premium is granted in two installments, as follows: an installment equal to 50% of the established amount, on the date of employment; an installment equal to 50% of the established amount, after the expiration of the 12-month period from employment.
Installation fee – is among the most consistent and is granted to people registered as unemployed at the employment agencies and who find work in another locality located at a distance greater than 50 km from the locality where they have their domicile or residence and , as a result of this fact, they change their domicile or establish their residence in the respective locality or in its neighboring localities. Instead, there is a special condition, namely that the unemployed have their domicile or residence or establish their new domicile or residence in the areas provided for in the National Mobility Plan approved by GD no. 903/29.11.2016 (disadvantaged areas from the point of view of labor market).
Placement premium – it can be requested by persons registered as unemployed at the employment agencies and who are employed, according to the law, in a locality located at a distance of more than 15 km from the locality where they have their domicile or residence. And this is non-taxable and is intended to support transport expenses, which can reach up to approximately 1,000 lei/month, depending on the distance.
The placement premium is calculated at 0.5 lei/km, but not more than 55 lei/day, proportional to the number of days in which the persons in question actually work at the employer where the placement is made. The placement premium is granted upon request, for a period of 12 months.
Relocation premium – it is granted to persons registered as unemployed at the employment agencies who are employed, according to the law, in another locality located at a distance greater than 50 km from the locality where they have their domicile or residence and, as as a result of this fact, they change their domicile or establish their residence in the respective locality or in its neighboring localities. The relocation premium, non-taxable, is equal to 75% of the amount intended to cover living expenses in the new home or residence, but not more than 900 lei. It can be granted for a period of up to 36 months. There are, also in the case of this premium, several conditions that must be met cumulatively and which you can find on the ANOFM website.
Important to mention: the relocation premium is granted upon request and is not cumulated with the activation premium, the placement premium or the installation premium.
In order to benefit from any of the mentioned benefits, the main condition is for the unemployed person to notify AJOFM, within three days of employment, that there has been a change in the unemployed status (that he has found work). Counselors from the public employment service specify this detail to the unemployed, by the way, from the moment they register with AJOFM as a person looking for a job, explaining to them that only at the time of employment can the concrete situation in which the person is found be evaluated.
“You can't tell them all the conditions at the beginning because you lose them and no unemployed person will remember them all. This is why we advise them: you have the obligation to come within three days (n. ed. – from placement), try to pay and we will tell you depending on where you were placed, where you live and all other details if you are placed in any of the conditions that bring you extra money”concluded Gheorghe.
