The woman accused of killing her mother with the help of a nurse from the Guard Room of the City Hospital in Cisnădie wanted to get her hands on the fortune of over one million euros, consisting of several properties in Sibiu county.
“Regarding the inheritance, the research has not yet been completed. But at this moment we know that it is at least three buildings in Sibiu County, with a cumulative value of over one million euros”, said on Monday the chief prosecutor of the Judicial Section of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Court, Dan Simion, according to Agerpres.
According to the investigators, the 38-year-old daughter and the 46-year-old nurse were pre-arrested for 30 days, being accused of qualified murder.
According to investigators, in June 2024, the victim’s daughter slipped sedatives into her tea, and after the woman fell asleep, the nurse injected her with enough sedative to cause her death. To make sure that the victim did not survive, the two suffocated her with a pillow.
“During June 2024, after having premeditated the act for a long time, a 38-year-old female person, benefiting from the help of a 46-year-old nurse, who procured her a large amount of substances with a sedative effect, slipped the substances into her mother’s tea that she was consuming. The act took place at her home in Sibiu. After the victim, 59 years old, asleep, the author called the nurse who was waiting for her, and then injected another amount of a substance with a strong sedative effect into the victim’s leg, enough to cause her death. Later, wanting to be sure of the victim’s death, the two suffocated her with a pillow.” said prosecutor Dan Simion, in a press release.
After the death of the mother, the daughter sold the inherited goods and went to Dubai, returning to Sibiu this month to sell a house, being caught by the investigators.
According to local media, the investigation would have been triggered after a close relative of the murdered woman notified the authorities stating that there are a number of inconsistencies between the daughter’s words and the actual situation. That person would have told investigators that there had been various misunderstandings between the mother and daughter in the past, and there was a possibility that the woman had been killed.
“The case of the woman’s death was opened following information received by investigators”the prosecutor added.
Who was Codruța Notary
The victim, Codruța Notar, was a respected woman in Sibiu. He built a solid career, running a company with dozens of employees and being an expert accountant. Upon hearing the news of her death in June 2024, many friends and associates were shocked, unable to understand how she had died so suddenly.

The hospital is investigating
At the City Hospital in Cisnădie, internal checks began after the arrest of the nurse. “We will investigate the hospital for possible substance embezzlement”said the mayor of Cisnădie, Mircea Orlățan.
The manager of the hospital, Maria-Delia Mincă, announced the suspension of the nurse’s individual employment contract as of December 29 and the start of an internal investigation regarding the management of special regime medication in the Guard Room.
“If there are requests from the authorities, the investigations will be expanded according to the requirements”, it is stated in the press release sent by the management of the medical unit.
