The National Assessment for students of the fourth grade began on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, with the written and communication test. From this school year, the results of the students at the national assessments in the second, IV and VI classes will be in the form of scores instead of codes. At the written request of the student, the scores obtained can be equated in qualifications/notes and can be passed in the catalog.
Buburuzei story
The emotions were great in banks, but not only because of the test-but also the unique stories that were offered for reading: “Buburuza without bullets”, a story signed by the writer Claudia Groza.
The students had 60 minutes available to complete the test, according to the Official Regulation.
A test, a story and a life lesson
The story of “Buburuzei without bullets” was more than just a literary text for analysis. It brought to the fore a deep subject: the differences between us and the importance of acceptance. Students were challenged to reflect and create, not just to respond mechanically to requirements.
The exercises combined the basic grammar with the creativity and understanding of the message. Among the work tasks were: the transcript of negative sentences according to a model, identifying the words that rhyme in a verse and the drafting of a short text-real or imaginary-in which the character of Buburuzei appears.
Education specialists say that the test for Romanian Liba this year refers to a balanced approach, that is, they do not only test the grammatical knowledge, but also the child’s ability to understand, interpret and create.

Testing organization
The sample started at 10:00, according to the program. If in some cases it could not start at the time set for objective reasons, the schools had the opportunity to broadcast the test, with the approval of the county commission.
In the classrooms, the students were placed two in the bank or as per ordinary arrangement. The tests were carefully distributed, each student receiving the appropriate version.
For absent students, the tests were not distributed – they were subsequently in records as “ABSENT”. At the end of the 60 minutes, the works were collected, sorted and wrapped according to the class of origin.
After the test distribution, the test administrator followed a standard scenario, read step by step in front of the students, as provided in the official methodology.
What follows at the National Assessment for the fourth grade
The students of the fourth grade continue the National Assessment on Wednesday, May 21, with the math sample. Thursday is scheduled to test in the mother tongue, for those belonging to national minorities.
Even if the results of these evaluations do not influence the general average, the experiences are real – for both children and parents who support them.
