TVR launches a new channel for sports fans. When will TVR Sport broadcast and what content will it offer

Romanian Television brings a new television station for sports lovers. TVR Sport will include a varied program: competitions from the most important world sports events to news shows and debates.

TVR Sport will start broadcasting on Saturday, March 30, 2024. This new channel promises to be a bridge between sports fans and the fascinating world of performance.

In an official statement, Dan Cristian Turturică, President-General Director of TVR, emphasized the importance of continuing the development of public television by offering relevant and necessary media products to the public.

At TVR Sport we will encourage lesser-known competitions, we will bring back memorable pages from the glorious history of Romanian sports and we will be host to our great champions, but also to young people eager to perform”said Turturică, according to Pagina de Media.

Among the highlights of the TVR Sport schedule are the live broadcasts of the Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled to take place between July 26 and August 11, 2024. Also, before this grand event, the station will broadcast a series of podcasts and shows special, offering a foray into the stories of legendary champions such as Gabriela Szabo, Marian Drăgulescu or Maricica Puică.

However, TVR Sport will not limit itself to major events in the world of sports. The channel will also broadcast domestic and international competitions and championships in a wide range of sports, from football and volleyball to swimming, boxing and chess. In addition, the portrait-type shows will bring to the viewers the story of Romanian sports legends, such as Nadia Comăneci, Ilie Năstase or Simona Halep.

The TVR Sport program will include various productions, such as “Sports Hour”, which will present school competitions in various sports disciplines, or “Olympic Hour”, which will provide the latest news about the preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Also , TVR Sport podcasts will cover various topics related to famous athletes, sports medicine and more.

Public television has announced that TVR Sport will be available through various channels, including digital terrestrial, cable and satellite. Thus, sports fans across the country will have access to the content.
