Former defender Vasile Mănăilă, champion of Romania in football with Craiova University in 1991, ceased life on Tuesday, June 10, at the age of 62, the club in Banie announced.

Vasile Mănăilă was born in Borduşani, from Ialomiţa county, on November 22, 1962. Football began at the Far Children’s Center and Junior, and later wore the white-blue shirt in Liga 1 during 1981-1984 and 1991-1995.

He was a champion of Romania with the University of Craiova in 1991, and for the national team of Romania he played a match, in 1991. Mănăilă won with the University and a Cup of Romania (1991), in addition to a final lost in 1985.
