If the meeting in the Superliga was sold-out, considering that it was played on the weekend, now, in the middle of the week, the National Arena was left with many empty seats. Incidentally, the announcer’s announcement in the second half confirmed that the cup derby had an extremely low attendance: 18,476 spectators.

In this desolate setting, Dinamo and FCSB made the spectators present at the stadium probably regret their decision to come to the match. Because the first half was insipid. With only one notable event: Olaru’s injury, in the 10th minute, the FCSB captain being suspected of a muscle tear!

Paradoxically, this unfortunate moment for the Romanian champion would later contribute to a decisive victory.

Olaru was replaced by Alex Băluță, and he became the man of the match, making a sensational game after the break. First, the 31-year-old midfielder opened the score, after a phase worked excellently by Octavian Popescu (56). Then, at the next two successes of his team, Băluță became a servant. And not anyway, but with some fabulous passes. The first was capitalized by Luis Phelipe (70), and the second by Ștefănescu (81).

It ended 4-0 for FCSB, after Ștefănescu scored the double (88), a result that made the Dynamo fans leave the National Arena angry, some of them leaving the stadium before the final whistle.
