The police discovered, during the pyrotechnic control carried out before the football match between CSA Steaua Bucharest and ACS Sepsi OSK, a number of 311 pyrotechnic materials of the “torches” type, hidden inside the sports arena.
According to official information, the prohibited materials were identified in the area of access devices intended for people with disabilities, and there are suspicions that they were used to conceal pyrotechnics.
The law enforcement agencies drew up the notification documents to the criminal investigation bodies, citing the provisions of Law no. 126/1995 regarding the regime of explosive substances, republished, with subsequent amendments and additions.
Gendarmerie representatives remind that “the use of pyrotechnic materials inside sports arenas is strictly prohibited, representing a major risk for the safety of spectators, athletes and staff involved in the organization of the event”.
