“Nea Florică”, a viral character on TikTok for the famous line “He gave me, he gave me a package!”, became the center of a scandal after he was filmed breaking the necks of several pigeons. The clip caused harsh reactions and led to the opening of a criminal case.
The popularity gained on TikTok seems to have brought 57-year-old Florian Chiva, known to the public as “Nea Florica”, in a completely unexpected situation.
The Tiktoker from Teleorman, who became famous after a video filmed at a charity event in a cemetery, is now the subject of a criminal investigation after a clip published on the social platform caused outrage among animal lovers.
“Nea Florică” became known throughout the country following the video in which he utters the line “He gave me, he gave me a package!”, moment that quickly went viral and turned into a massively shared meme on social media.
The wave of popularity brought him more than 50,000 followers and led him to constantly post on TikTok, where he built a loyal following through videos of his everyday life.
This time, however, one of the published videos generated a wave of negative reactions and complaints to the authorities. In the images posted online, Florian Chiva appears taking several pigeons out of a bag and slaughtering them one by one.
As he snapped their necks, the man casually commented: “It’s good, because this is tender, see what soup the milking makes.”
In total, eight pigeons were killed during the TikTok “demonstration”, which ended with a message that further outraged animal lovers horrified by the images.
“Beautiful day!”, wished Florian Chiva, at the end, to his followers.
After the images appeared, several animal lovers notified the Police, the Environmental Guard and ANSVSA, claiming alleged acts of animal cruelty.
Meanwhile, the Police confirmed for Teleorman-News that a criminal case was opened for the intentional killing of animals, without the right, and the man was also penalized for publishing the images online.
What does “Nea Florica” say
Contacted by local journalists, “Nea Florică” claims that it did not do anything out of the ordinary.
Florian Chiva stated that the pigeons belong to him, that he is a breeder and that slaughtering them is part of the normal activity of a household. Many of the chicks cannot be kept, and some of the pigeons end up being eaten, the man explained, pointing out that, in his opinion, the situation cannot be interpreted as animal cruelty.
“People will look at that complaint and leave it at that; that’s why pigeons are good, for bread and butter. What cruelty, sir? How can it be illegal?”, he said when informed that a criminal complaint had been filed against him.
Moreover, the tiktoker believes that the online reactions are exaggerated and that he did nothing but dispose of his own animals.
“The world is easy, not to say stupid. Why should they call me to the Police, what have I done? I can no longer cut my pigeons?”, the tiktoker asked rhetorically.
When asked why he chose to film and post the moment on TikTok, the answer was straightforward: he was looking for views.
“That’s what I always do, I play the trumpet, I make videos on TikTok”, he explained.
The clip that sparked the scandal has since been deleted from TikTok. However, another video remained on “Nea Florică’s” account, in which he releases several pigeons, which he says do not belong to him, but have mixed in among his birds.
