Wizz Air introduces 44 routes for the 2024-2025 winter season, of which 14 are from airports in Romania, the company announced on Tuesday.

Also, the airline is selling over 28 million seats at affordable prices for the winter season, and almost 5 million will be allocated to the market in our country.
“In Romania, 14 routes also started this week, with nine completely new routes and five reopened. From this winter, Wizz Air lands at the newly inaugurated airport in Salerno, Italy, and introduces unique destinations such as Krakow, Lisbon, Malmo, Marrakesh, Rome Fiumicino, Stuttgart and Trieste from even more cities. In total, the airline will operate 141 routes in the winter season throughout Romania.”it is stated in the Wizz Air press release, writes Agerpres.
Wizz Air will also make available to its passengers this season more than 28 million seats at affordable prices across the entire network, the largest offer in terms of winter capacity since the beginning of its operations, serving Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Almost 5 million seats will be allocated only to the Romanian market.
The newest Wizz Air routes in Romania in the winter season 2024-2025 are from Bucharest to Malmo, Milan, Salerno Costa d’Amalfi, Krakow, Marrakesh, Stuttgart and Trieste, ticket prices starting from 19.99 euros. Also, flights are scheduled from Cluj-Napoca to five destinations: Abu Dhabi, Lisbon, Lyon, Stuttgart and Vienna, with prices starting from 17.99 euros, from Iasi to one destination, Malmo, at a price of 19.99 euro, and from Bacău to Rome Fiumicino – 24.99 euro.
In the period January-October 2024, Wizz Air improved its performance in terms of punctuality of flights from Romania by 13% compared to the same period last year and reached a flight completion rate of 99.6%, one of the highest in the industry, reaching the percentage of 100% completed flights for several months this year, Wizz Air representatives state in the press release.
The airline now also offers an enhanced portfolio of member options, including All You Can Fly, Wizz MultiPass, available in multiple markets, and Wizz Discount Club Premium, and for passenger convenience, Wizz Air has introduced Apple Pay and Google Pay in its official application and started accepting Revolut cards for purchases made on board.
According to the cited source, Wizz Air maintained the lowest intensity of carbon emissions in the industry, with an average of 52.6 grams of CO2 per passenger/kilometer during 12 months. Together with Airbus, the airline is currently testing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) operations ahead of the RefuelEU regulation coming into force in January 2025.
