What is known less about the famous music singer Gheorghe Turda is that the artist was a collaborator of the Security, according to a definitive decision of the High Court, pronounced in 2011.
Originally from the village of Maramureş Săpânţa, Turda has a rank of brigadier general and was verified by CNSAS because it has held the position of director of the National Cultural Center within the Ministry of Interior.
In a report from 1971, a security officer showed that Gheorghe Turda willingly presented at the militia post and reported: “My Aunt Konradt Ileana intends to leave the country permanently. He has approved a passport on August 8, 1971 by the Maramureş Militia and Security Inspectorate”.
