A actor awarded with Bafta, accused of rape and sexual assault in the UK. Micheal Ward is expected in front of the court

British actor Micheal Ward, known for his roles in Top Boy, Small Axi and Blue Story series, was charged for two rape and three sexual assault.

According to the London Metropolitan Police, the facts would have taken place in January 2023 and would target a single victim.

27 -year -old Micheal Ward, originally from Jamaica and established in Hertfordshire, transmitted through a statement:

“I definitely deny the accusations that are brought to me. I cooperated fully with the police during the investigation and I have total confidence that, finally, my name will be exempted.”

Known to the UK and International public, Michael Ward was noted in 2019 in the Blue Story movie, followed by the role of Jamie in the Successful Netflix Top Boy series (2019–2022). He was awarded by the British Film Academy (BAFTA) in 2020, in the category “Rising Star” (Revelation of the year), and was nominated in 2021 at Bafta TV for its interpretation in Small Axi, reports the BBC.

The actor will appear in the movie Western American Eddington, a production that will be released in the UK on August 22, 2025.

Micheal Ward is expected before the court at the Thames Magistrates’ Court in London on August 28, 2025.

“The specialized officers continue to provide support to the woman who filed the complaint. We understand the deep emotional impact that such investigations can have on the victims.” The authorities announced on Friday, July 25th.

Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) South London, said:

“Following a careful analysis of the evidence, CPS authorized Micheal Ward’s prosecution for two rape, two facts without consent and sexual assault.”

“We recall that the suspect benefits from the presumption of innocence and has the right to a fair trial. It is essential that nothing of what is published or distributed online not to endanger the good conduct of the judicial procedures.”
