Andrei Rublev, the first finalist of the ATP tournament in Madrid

Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev, number eight in the world, qualified for the final of the ATP Masters 1,000 tournament in Madrid, endowed with total prizes of 7,877,020 euros, after defeating American Taylor Fritz (13 ATP), 6-4, 6-3.

Rublev won in just one hour and 12 minutes, but the American continues to lead in direct matches, 5-4, writes Agerpres.

In the last act, the Russian will receive the reply of the winner between Felix Auger-Aliassime and the Czech Jiri Lehecka.

It is only Rublev's second final this season, after winning the title in Hong Kong earlier in the year. It will also be the fifth career ATP Masters 1,000 final for the Russian.
