Radu Miruță announced the signing of a new contract financed by the European SAFE program, the one aimed at the last section of the A8 Highway and the realization of the first highway connection across the Prut, to the Republic of Moldova.
In a post on Facebook, in his dual capacity as interim Minister of the Army and Transport, Radu Miruţă announced on Thursday, July 2, the signing of the Memorandum for the negotiation and conclusion of the agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova regarding the development of transport infrastructures of strategic interest between the two states. The document was signed together with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Bolea.
The investment amounts to 3.57 billion lei and provides for the construction of the last 15.5 kilometers of the A8 Highway, as well as the completion, for the first time, of the first kilometers of highway that will cross the Prut River in the direction of Chisinau.

This agreement complements another important step taken the other day: the signing of the contract, financed by the European SAFE program, for the section between Iasi and the border with the Republic of Moldova.
