Baccalaureate 2026. Thursday is the test of the choice of the profile – the last one, for most candidates

The national Baccalaureate exam 2026 enters on Thursday, July 2, the penultimate day of the written tests, with testing in the discipline of your choice of profile and specialization. Candidates from the theoretical stream, the real profile, have the opportunity to choose between Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics, while students from the humanities profile can opt for Geography, Logic, argumentation and communication, Psychology, Economics, Sociology or Philosophy.

This test is the last for most graduates, except for those belonging to national minorities, who still have to take the test in Mother Language and Literature on Friday. According to the data of the Ministry of Education and Research, almost 131,000 students are registered to take the written tests of the Baccalaureate in this session.

For all written tests, candidates can enter the exam centers between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., based on a valid ID. In the exam rooms, the students are seated one by one in a bench, in alphabetical order, and between 8:30 and 9:00 they are explained how to conduct the test. The test actually starts at 9:00 a.m., and the working time is three hours, calculated from the moment the topics are distributed.

Candidates who were justifiably late for the compulsory profile test on Wednesday morning, due to unfavorable weather conditions, had the opportunity to take the exam with reserve subjects, starting at 13:00. According to the Ministry of Education, 17 candidates benefited from this facility, and Minister Mihai Dimian specified that this measure was taken to ensure equal opportunities for all graduates, regardless of possible travel difficulties.

Drastic penalties for those who break the rules

The rules for conducting the exam are strict and well defined. Candidates can use only blue ink or paste to solve the subjects, and black pencil for diagrams and drawings.

In the Geography test, only drawing tools are allowed, and students can write exclusively on the paper distributed by the assistants. It is forbidden to bring into the examination hall any personal items such as satchels, backpacks, bags or purses, as well as any electronic means of calculation, storage or communication – memory sticks, telephones, tablets or other similar devices.

Textbooks, dictionaries, notes, notes or any other material that could be used to solve the subjects are also prohibited. Violation of these rules results in removal from the exam, regardless of whether or not prohibited materials were used, and removed candidates are no longer entitled to participate in the next two sessions of the Baccalaureate.

Remaining schedule of written test and appeals. Final results on July 13

After Thursday’s test, the last written test of the June-July session is scheduled for Friday, July 3, when graduates who have studied in a national minority language will take the Mother Language and Literature exam.

The rest of the candidates complete their series of written tests after testing on Thursday.

The initial results of the Baccalaureate will be displayed on July 7, until 12:00 p.m., and on the same day, between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., the period for viewing papers and submitting appeals begins, a process that continues on July 8 and 9.

The appeals are resolved between July 9 and 10, and the final results will be published on July 13.

Candidates who obtain at least grade 5 in each written test and the overall average of at least 6 are declared “successful”, and those who do not meet these conditions are declared “rejected”, being eligible to participate in the second session of the Baccalaureate, scheduled between July and August 2026.
