The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced that, starting in November, an electronic form will be available on the institution’s website through which doctors and assistants will be able to report problems in hospitals, from operational deficiencies to abusive behavior on the part of bosses.

Alexandru Rogobete explained, on Wednesday evening, that the new mechanism will allow the medical staff to directly transmit to the Ministry of Health the complaints or deviations observed in the activity in the hospitals.
“On the website of the Ministry of Health, a form will appear in which I want to listen to the opinion of the medical staff. There will be an electronic form in which doctors, resident doctors, can write and report all the problems they encounter there. Specialist doctors, nurses, nurses, medical staff in general will have the opportunity in that form to report what is not working. To report abuses, to report inappropriate behavior of department heads, residency coordinators, whom you want”, said the Minister of Health on Medika TV.
Confidentiality guaranteed
The minister emphasized that the identity of those who will submit reports will be protected, and the name will be visible only to him.
“I am saying something important and I emphasize it. The only person who will see the name and surname of the person who made the report will be me. According to the legislation, in Romania you cannot make a report unless you sign with your name and surname. Anonymous reports cannot be taken into account. And then, the platform will oblige the staff to write with first and last name. But the system will de-identify when it reaches the College of Doctors, the Control Body, the Ethics Service of the Ministry of Health“, explained Rogobete.
The minister assured that personal data will remain strictly confidential: “The data will be de-identified, only I can have password access to see who made the report. And I assure you that the data will remain secret”.
The purpose of the initiative
Through this form, the Ministry of Health aims to create a direct link between the authorities and medical personnel in the field, in order to identify and correct internal problems in the system. Rogobete emphasized that the purpose of the project is to listen and support the medical staff, not to sanction them.
