The visitors, who are fighting to avoid relegation, scored three times during the first half, through Tahith Chong (9), Chiedozie Ogbene (31) and Ross Barkley (45+1).

Bournemouth, who did not have the Romanian goalkeeper Ionuţ Radu in the squad for this game, however had a spectacular comeback in the second part of the game, managing to turn the result around thanks to the goals of Dominic Solanke (50), Ilia Zabarnîi (62) and Antoine Semenyo, who scored the double in the 64th and 83rd minutes.

The match was rescheduled after the original meeting between the two sides was interrupted in the 59th minute in December following Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch. He was present at the Bournemouth match, his picture appearing on the match programme, and he was cheered by the spectators before the start of the game, when he met the doctors who saved his life.

The result left Luton Town in 18th place with 21 points from 28 games, three points behind Nottingham Forest (17th), who they face at home this weekend.

Bournemouth are in 13th place with 35 points, becoming the first team in 21 years to win a Premier League game after being 3-0 down, according to Reuters. In the last leg, Bournemouth drew with Sheffield United 2-2 after being 2-0 up.
