The visitors, who are fighting to avoid relegation, scored three times during the first half, through Tahith Chong (9), Chiedozie Ogbene (31) and Ross Barkley (45+1).
Bournemouth, who did not have the Romanian goalkeeper Ionuţ Radu in the squad for this game, however had a spectacular comeback in the second part of the game, managing to turn the result around thanks to the goals of Dominic Solanke (50), Ilia Zabarnîi (62) and Antoine Semenyo, who scored the double in the 64th and 83rd minutes.
The match was rescheduled after the original meeting between the two sides was interrupted in the 59th minute in December following Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch.
