Constructive dialogue today, at the Parliament, with all the relevant actors in the judiciary. As I announced publicly, I initiated a consultation with a view to the rapid drafting of a draft law on magistrates’ pensions that would truly meet the expectations of Romanians and unlock the tranche of 231 million euros from the PNRR by November 28.

My approach aims at two clear objectives: unblocking the judicial situation and forming a working group with specialists, under the coordination of the Parliament, to quickly identify the constitutional legislative solution”, announced the interim head of the PSD.

The president of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), Elena Costache, the president of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ÎCCJ), Lia Savonea and the Prosecutor General, Alex Florenta, participated in the meeting organized by the head of the PSD. Also, the Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, the Minister of Labor, Florin Manole and the Deputy Prime Minister Marian Neacșu were also involved in the discussions.

“I believe that in politics dialogue is the only way through which you can achieve long-term results. I am a politician who rejects obtuseness and stubbornness, because they never lead to viable results. This approach must be carried out to the end, together with all those interested and in good faith, that’s why I invite the other leaders of the coalition to be an active part of the solution. We must use all parliamentary means to have a real and constitutional solution to a serious problem“, Sorin Grindeanu also transmitted.

The meeting organized by the interim president of the PSD, Soin Grindeanu, comes in the context in which Grindeanu recently stated that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan must go home, if he will propose a new project to change the retirement conditions of magistrates, without consulting with actors in the field or without taking into account the observations of President Nicuşor Dan.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan wants the project to resume as quickly as possible, implying that the regulation may not stop only at magistrates. “As soon as the CCR gives reasons for this decision, the procedure must be resumed immediately, respecting that deadline in such a way that we are in a position to make a law. But not just any law. Why is this aspect important? For this country to do wellin order to have more money in the budget, we cannot collect more money than the working people produce. We are the penultimate country in Europe in terms of the number of active population, engaged in the economy.

We must limit early retirements. A Government that fails to pass this measure, was crying out to the sky, with cascading salary increases, salary rights of over 2 billion euros were won in lawsuits”.
