According to him, the Romanians allocate on average 5-10% more for the 2025 holidays, putting in the first place the comfort, safety and memorable experiences.

For example, a couple spends, on average, between 4,500 and 5,000 euros for a complete stay – plane, accommodation and transfers, around 2,250 – 2,500 euros/person, while families with a child calibrate their budget: they are oriented to packages that do not exceed 5,500 euros, but they choose destinations in which the little ones are.

The time spent on vacation becomes part of the investment in well -being, not just an interval for fast relaxation. The study shows that three out of four tourists choose 8-10-day stays, a sign that they want more than a hand-luggage break.

On the other hand, the survey shows, 20% of Romanians offer a longer pampering and prefer stays over 10 days, while only 5% opt for escapades shorter than a week.

50% of tourists traveling this year are new customers, and 27% of the reservations are made online, through the dedicated platforms: circuiterra.net, sejurexotic.ro and sejureuropa.ro. This data shows not only an increase in brand’s notoriety, but also increased confidence in digital platforms consolidated by a variety of destinationsSaid Sorin Stoica, CEO of Eturia

Very many tourists want new destinations

The study shows that 95% of customers choose to explore a new destination this summer, a sign that the desire for adventure and discovery is stronger than the attachment to the already known places, while only 5% return to the same location, and they are generally tourists who have discovered a place that has checked all the expectations: relaxation, quality.

Romanians will no longer only want to see the world, but to “taste”, Becoming more curious and daring when it comes to gastronomy. Many say that the holiday is not complete without a local set where the locals eat.

Thus, 67% choose accommodations with breakfast included-to be free at lunch and dinner to explore local restaurants, markets and street food, while one in three tourists prefer the half-board (breakfast +dinner)-especially in exotic destinations, where dinner at the hotel means comfort, safety and story views.

Summer does not just mean the beach in Europe – for many Romanians, the ideal vacation is thousands of miles away. Thus, in the top of the preferences are China, Seychelles, Malaezia, Mauritius, Zanzibar but also Indonesia, while 28% of Romanians remain close to home, choosing cities or islands with special charm, such as Madeira – exotic island in the heart of Atlantic, France, Iceland, Ireland and Spain.

Madeira continues to go up in rankings and is becoming more and more families, couples and urban explorers.

Some places are not only beautiful, but they have simply become destinations that attract more and more Romanian tourists. Compared to last summer, the most spectacular increases in the preferences of Romanians record them:

China-culture, the tourist objectives that cut your breath and fabulous food convinced more and more Romanians to say “Ni Hao!” This summer.

Madeira-the Portuguese island is the queen of European stays in 2025. The “injured” land, the wild nature and the Caribbean vibe on the EU territory propel it

Mauritius – it is for those who want peace, luxury and blue lagoons. Romanians discover this pearl from the Indian Ocean and come back with hard to match stories.

“We notice a deep change in The way Romanians choose their holidays. We discuss a generation of more informed tourists, who wants to explore, not just rest. Social networks play an important role in choosing the plan for memorable memories“Added Stoica.
