The Romanian Sports Gala, organized by the National Sports Agency (ANS), will take place tonight, starting at 18.00, but the event was thrown into ridicule due to an embarrassing organization.

For about two weeks, the media representatives are “bombarded” with messages about this gala. The first email, in this regard, was sent on February 1. Then, it was announced where this gala will take place: “In an edifice-symbol of national culture – the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, bringing together in a solemn setting the elites of sport from the whole country, officials of the Romanian state, partners and collaborators of the National Sports Agency and representatives of the media“.
The day after this announcement, i.e. on February 2, another email was sent through which journalists were asked to accredit themselves at the Romanian Sports Gala: “For the best possible organization, we ask that, by the end of Friday, February 9, you send your firm intention to participate, with the identification data of your institution's representatives“.
After another six days, on February 8, another email from the Communication and Public Relations Service of the National Sports Agency: “We come back with the request not to delay the submission of the accreditation request, which we expect today, if possible. Thank you for your interest and cooperation!“.
Decision communicated on WhatsApp: “There are no places”
Today, when journalists were preparing to go to the event to cover the Romanian Sports Gala, shockingly, a message appeared on the ANS communication group on the WhatsApp application.
“There is no place for anyone in the hall (that is, on the chair), because they could no longer be allocated. You have foyer areas to craft materials. We regret the situation, but here we are, for reasons beyond our control. In the hall, it will not be possible to stand because the event is broadcast live by TVR“, was the explanation of the organizers.
It should be noted that, if the press does not have a place in the hall, instead, seats were found for the president of the PNL, Nicolae Ciucă, but also the general secretary of the party, Lucian Bode!
Seeing this situation, several journalists have already communicated their decision to boycott the Romanian Sports Gala.
