A 36-year-old man was detained and later remanded in custody, after assaulting a woman, his former concubine, whom he threatened with death.

A 36-year-old man was detained in a criminal case of harassment, threat and destruction.

The policemen from Department 17 were notified, by calling 112, on March 11, around 5:00 p.m., that a woman was being assaulted by a man on a street in District 5. The injured person, a 50-year-old woman, was also identified, writes Agerpres.

From the investigations, it was established that, while the victim was moving towards the car parked on a street in the mentioned sector, the 36-year-old man appeared from behind the car – the ex-concubine, but she avoided contact with him and got into the car, securing the gates.

Later, the man would have tried to force the doors, after which he would have climbed on the hood and hit the windshield with his feet. Also, while the suspect was trying to break the side windows, he allegedly addressed the woman with insults and death threats”according to the Capital Police.

A provisional protection order was issued against the man for a period of 5 days because the existence of an imminent risk was found.

Based on the evidence administered, he was detained for 24 hours and, subsequently, remanded in custody for 30 days.

The investigations are continued by the police officers of the 17th Police Department, under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the District 5 Court, for continued harassment, threats and destruction.
