Daniil Medvedev performed and was charged by the audience in Turin, having the attitude of a mindless child. The Russian ended the first set by giving up his serve, after committing three consecutive double faults, and completely lost his composure.

Things continued in the same vein in the second set, with the number 4 favorite being booed profusely by the crowd for his terrible behaviour. Daniil Medvedev threw his racket in the commercials and was whistled, and then he completely lost his mind, starting to throw his racket up without catching it. He was penalized by the chair umpire with one point and did not recover, losing the match in a hostile atmosphere. The Russian will get a chance to get revenge on Tuesday when he faces the loser of Sinner and De Minaur.
