The reaction of Siegfried Muresan, after the PSD complained about the PNL in Brussels: “They want to discuss the rule of law in the European Parliament. We will discuss with pleasure”

The conflict between PNL and PSD is gaining momentum after the social democrats announced that they have notified the Commission for Civil Liberties, Justice and Internal Affairs (LIBE) of the European Parliament, in relation to the pressure that the PNL exerts on the judiciary in Romania.

Everything started after the Bucharest Court ordered the provisional suspension of the Decision of the Extraordinary National Council of the PNL of June 19, by which the Extraordinary Congress of the party, scheduled for the election of the new leadership, had been convened. The liberals announced that they would appeal the decision and claimed that the file would have been assigned to a judge who they say is a former collaborator of Alina Gorghiu, which is why they announced that they would request the recusal of the magistrate.

Following these statements, the PSD representative in the LIBE Commission notified the commission’s management, asking to analyze the statements made by the PNL representatives from the perspective of respecting the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary.

In this context, in a post on Facebook, Siegfried Mureșan harshly criticized the PSD approach and referred to the period when the party was led by Liviu Dragnea.

“PSD wants to discuss the rule of law in the European Parliament. We will discuss with pleasure.

About the PSD, we must say that, during Liviu Dragnea’s time, it presented the attack on the rule of law as a defense of the rule of law, and the defense of the rule of law as an attack on the rule of law.

That’s what they did then, that’s what they do now.

I am convinced that all the actors, who then defended Liviu Dragnea and his abuses, will also defend any abuse during this period.

They tried for years to explain to us that they had changed. We will see in the coming months that they have not changed at all.

This is the party led today by the Prime Minister OUG 13″, wrote Siegfried Mureşan.
