Nadia Comăneci (64 years old) sent a message, at the end of the year, in which she says that in 2026 we will celebrate the historic moment of the first 10 in the history of gymnastics, obtained by the great athlete in 1976, at the Olympic Games in Montreal.
“Thank you, 2025, for the lessons and memories. We are waiting for you in 2026, with hope and confidence. Next year we will celebrate together 50 years since the first 10 in gymnastics, a historical moment, which reminds us of the power of dreams, work and courage. I wish you all health and happiness. Happy New Year, 2026. See you soon“, said Nadia, in a message posted on social media.
In 2026, the “Year of Nadia Comăneci” will be celebrated in Romania and a gala dedicated to the incomparable gymnast will be organized, scheduled for May 29.
Ilie Bolojan, while serving as interim president, left a message for the future president. In the message, the current prime minister tells Nicușor Dan to award the former champion from Onești, nicknamed the “Goddess of Montreal”, the “Star of Romania”, the highest award of the Romanian state.
