The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, ended his two-day official visit to Paris on Tuesday, where he participated in the meeting of the Coalition of the Will and the events dedicated to the National Day of France. On Wednesday, the head of state is expected in Kiev, where he will take part in the fifth edition of the Ukraine – South-Eastern Europe Summit.
At the end of the visit to France, Nicușor Dan conveyed that Romania reaffirms its role as an active partner in strengthening European security and in supporting Ukraine.
“I conclude the visit from Paris with a clear message: Romania is an active and reliable partner in efforts to strengthen European security. The discussions within the Coalition of the Will were dedicated to support for Ukraine and the necessary steps for a just and lasting peace”, the president sent on his Facebook page.
The head of state also mentioned the participation in the ceremonies organized on the occasion of the National Day of France, together with the French President Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders.
“Today we celebrated, together with President Emmanuel Macron and other European leaders, the National Day of France, a good opportunity to reaffirm the strong ties between Romania and France, united by a strategic partnership and a friendship built over time”, Nicușor Dan also transmitted.
The Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit is coming up
During his visit to Paris, the President of Romania participated on Monday and Tuesday in the meeting of the Coalition of the Will, dedicated to the coordination of support for Ukraine and discussions on the future European security architecture. The President of Romania was accompanied to Paris by his life partner, Mirabela Grădinaru.
On Wednesday, Nicușor Dan will participate in the fifth edition of the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit in Kiev, a meeting where leaders from the region are expected to discuss the support given to Ukraine and the prospects for peace. “The participation of the President of Romania at this Summit demonstrates, once again, Romania’s solidarity with Ukraine and the unequivocal support of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state”, sent the Presidential Administration.
Launched in 2023, the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit brings together the leaders of the states of the region to coordinate the support given to Ukraine and to identify common solutions to the challenges generated by the war.
