Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced that he is increasing the number of posts in state pre-university education by 7,800. “The increase is necessary to ensure the right to education and the integration of a growing number of children with special needs in mainstream education,” declared the Head of the Executive.

“We are starting with good news for the education system: we are increasing the number of positions in state pre-university education by 7,800. The increase is necessary to ensure the right to education and the integration of a growing number of children with special needs into mainstream education. The Minister of Education will attend the briefing and explain the measures taken, so that the new school year starts on Monday in the best possible conditions“, stated Marcel Ciolacu, on Wednesday, September 4, at the beginning of the Government meeting.

According to Edupedu, the positions are dedicated to the new teachers who would teach in the more than 2,500 new classes formed in schools, they are for support teachers for children with Special Educational Needs (CES) who have moved from special education to mainstream education, for mediators schoolchildren to intervene in areas with high school dropout rates and for computer scientists to deal with the new smart laboratories contracted by schools through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The new positions would be established after the recruitment competition.

More precisely, the number of positions provided by GD 731/2024 will be increased by 7,884, of which 84 are in school inspectorates, and the remaining 7,800 – in schools and for other pre-university education services.
