With the holiday season upon us, what could be more relaxing than a vacation? If you don't know where to go this summer, here are five perfect destinations for a quiet vacation, according to the Daily Mail.

Formentera, Spain

Formentera is the smallest of the Balearic Islands in Spain and you can reach it by ferry, which leaves from Ibiza
Will Hide, a person who visited the island, said that Formentera is the perfect destination if you are going to relax: “If you want to do little other than eat, drink, relax on soft beaches, swim in turquoise waters or stroll through village markets, you should head to Formentera”.
The Lonely Planet travel guide noted that the island is “designed to spend relaxing days on some of the most exquisite beaches in Europe (dare we say the world?)”some of them having “water that shimmers in a stunning shade of bright turquoise“.

A real gem and one of the three “golden islands” off the Riviera coast, Porquerolles has numerous beaches, cycle paths and limestone cliffs that are “untouched” due to the fact that there are no cars.
According to MailOnline Travel editor Ted Thornhill, the island “boasts one of the most beautiful beaches“. It is about Notre Dame beach, located about three kilometers east of the port.
Hvar, Croatia

Considered the sunniest island in the Mediterranean, with 2,800 hours of sunshine, Hvar is the ideal destination if you want to spend your days on the beach.
Travel writer Jo Knowsley described it as a “Croatian gem”, offering “the clearest blue water and fragrant and lush surroundings“.
Rough Guides indicated that Hvar is “the summertime hangout for celebrities, yachtsmen and cocktail drinkers”but also provides “a piece of the Mediterranean intended for families, untouched and at affordable prices”.
Visitors can explore fascinating coves, a hilltop fortress and a stunning main square with a Renaissance-era cathedral.
Elba, Italy

Lonely Planet described the island as “an ever-glorious paradise of coves with beaches, vineyards, azure waters”.
Author Mary Bly stated that “Elba is not luxurious, like Capri; even yachts approaching small coves and towns are of normal size“. However, according to his words, “it's a great place to go when you're craving great, simple food, day-in, day-out sun and perfect sunsets”.
