This unique exhibition explores the themes of sustainable choices, recycling and longing for less rushed times in harmony with nature. The exhibition includes collections of lamps, vases and paintings made from recycled materials, which reflect the artist’s commitment to the environment, but also her love for traditions.

Monica Ioniță, recognized for her original approach, transforms apparently mundane materials into works of art that tell about the past and about our common future. Each piece is a combination of creativity and environmental awareness, proving that art can be both beautiful and responsible.

The “Echoes and Lights” exhibition brings to the fore his diverse collection, including papier mâché lamps and vases, made with great attention to detail and the source of the materials. Notable works include the “Light from the Abyss” lamp, which combines human symbols with a profound aesthetic, and the “Drought Echo” vase, which captures the essence of climate change. The pieces are made from recycled paper, especially from hypermarket catalogs, and are also a form of protest against the consumerism we are encouraged to do while the planet registers record temperatures and food waste reaches alarming levels.

The exhibition “Echoes and lights” is distinguished by a special series of six paintings, entitled “Longing”, which constitutes the thematic core of the event. These works, inspired by Monica Ionita’s longing for simpler times and the deep connection with nature, are more than simple visual representations; they are journal pages that tell of genuine memories and feelings. Each painting is a window into the artist’s rural past, reflecting a universe of personal emotions and experiences. The music provided by DJ Gruia will complete the experience, providing a soundtrack that unites visitors with the rural atmosphere evoked by Monica’s works. Thus, “Echoes and Lights” is not just an art exhibition, but an immersion in a creative universe that celebrates both sustainability and cultural memory.

The exhibition Echoes and lights is a return to the roots, a tribute to my childhood spent in the country and a reflection on how I learned to give new life to materials. As a child, I was fascinated by the possibility of giving a new life to seemingly useless objects, inspired by the traditions and teachings received from my mother. In this exhibition, each work reflects my love for sustainability and for art that revives the connection with the past. Echoes and lights is about finding beauty in simplicity and transforming available resources into objects that keep alive the connection to our traditions and core values.“, says Monica Ioniță.

Monica Ioniță is an interior designer and maker of unique objects from recycled materials, dedicated to transforming waste into functional and sustainable pieces of art. Graduated in Journalism and Agriculture, Monica has dedicated her last years to transforming waste into decorative objects, wanting to bring a positive change to the world through each project she completes. She is the founder of the Vechi ca Nou project, an initiative that promotes the creative reuse of materials.

The opening of the exhibition “Echoes and lights” is to be held on Thursday 5 September from 19:00 at the showroom in rue Paris 14A and is open to the public, and the exhibition will remain accessible to the public until 19 September.
