It is known that the public appearances of the former president Traian Băsescu are often memorable, something that happened more often during his mandates as head of state.
Even if ten years have passed since he is no longer in the foreground of the cameras, currently being at the end of his political career, Băsescu remains the same jerk.
That was also the case on Friday morning, when he surprised everyone with his first post on Facebook after almost two years of absence (his last appearance was in 2022, on Romania’s National Day).
Băsescu started his morning with the short message “Hello!”. He repeated it a little later, but deleted it, probably realizing it had been duplicated by mistake.
Even so, his post garnered nearly 2,000 comments within hours, many of them frothy.
“This is what it means to be an influencer. You write “hello” and thousands of people answer you”someone commented.
“Hard to wake up Barosana, I think you cracked something loud last night”,
someone else chimed in with a joke.
“To live. … well…” or “Happy birthday, sailor, wind at the stern! Congratulations Mrs. Maria! All the good in the world fam. Basescu. I voted for you twice, I would do it again…anytime”wrote those who visited the former president’s page.
“You have already said more than Iohannis”.
“Is the whiskey finished? He kept the reserve for about 2 years”;
“At 41° it’s not much. Aaa, if the vodka is 37-40° it’s understandable! Sailor…”;
“Few people realized that it was an irony about Iohannis and Ciucă, present (as wax figures) at the Navy Day”; “Hello, Mr. Băsescu! What else can I sing to you?”.
“We are waiting for you to announce your candidacy Mr. President!”
At one point, one of the Internet users wanted to know if the Facebook page is really managed by the former dignitary, and Traian Băsescu gave an appropriate answer: “I write, I post, I answer”.
