A new school year begins. Students and teachers have 36 weeks of classes until the next big holiday

Classes for the 2024-2025 school year begin on Monday, and students will have 36 weeks of school until the next big vacation. The structure of the school year with five modules and five vacations was preserved, including the so-called “ski vacation” in February, which is different in each county.

On Monday, September 9, around 3 million students will start school, of which 180,000 students start the Preparatory class.

“From an administrative point of view, the 2024 – 2025 school year begins on September 1, 2024, ends on August 31, 2025 and has a duration of 36 weeks of classes”, says the Ministry of Education, writes news.ro.

The 2024-2025 school year is structured on five modules and five vacations, including the so-called ski vacation, which was decided by each individual county.

National program “School differently” and the Program”green week” takes place between September 9, 2024 and May 30, 2025, in intervals of 5 consecutive working days, in different modules.

The summer vacation will start on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

For the 12th day, 13th evening and reduced attendance classes, the school year has a duration of 34 weeks of classes and ends on June 6, 2025.

For the 8th grade, the school year has a duration of 35 weeks of classes and ends on June 13, 2025.

For classes in high school education — the technological branch and for classes in professional education, the school year has a duration of 37 weeks of classes and ends on June 27, 2025.
