“In each disaster center we will organize a medical team in a very short time. We have also established a model for reporting any suspected communicable disease to the National Institute of Public Health. We will also find a solution for those who do not have the usual drugs for the treatment of chronic diseases. We will also send vaccines as needed. Will send as much as needed. We managed to procure together with the people from DSP and a quantity of hepatitis A vaccine for children who are at risk of hepatitis A. No problem here. But we are concerned with the provision of healthcare for those who do not currently have it”, stated the minister.
The announcement comes in the context in which a few days ago the epidemiologist Emilian Popovici raised a big alarm warning about the risk of getting sick with the hepatitis A virus. The specialist told Adevărul that, if preventive measures are not taken, there could be an outbreak in the area outbreaks of hepatitis A and dysentery. “But the hepatitis A virus is transmitted through dirty hands or even by washing food, fruits and vegetables with contaminated water”, the epidemiologist specified.
