The actor Tudor Chirilă called the president Klaus Iohannis a “scoundrel impostor” who emptied the presidential office of meaning, criticizing him vehemently, although he admits that he voted for him in the past.

“The vile impostor named Klaus Iohannis succeeded in ridiculing and emptying the position of president of Romania (yes, we voted for him, many of us voted for him, but we cannot impute his lack of character and villainy, more chosen because he masked them skillfully) and to fool a bunch of Romanians who believed that he would contribute to the reduction of pesedism in Romania”Chirilă wrote on his Facebook page.
He emphasized that Iohannis’ promises to reduce PSD’s influence in Romania did not materialize.
The actor recalled an incident from Iohannis’s first visit to New York. “The entire presidential administration jumped on the bandwagon after an unusual request. Klaus Iohannis requested that the hotel be equipped with a toilet at a certain height from the floor, neither above nor below”Chirilă said. “Employees from Cotroceni and the embassy rummaged for days for the right throne.”
This moment was seen as a sign of the president’s priorities. “Personal comfort has always been above all else”added Chirila.
“Iohannis may have had what he wanted, but in the history of his contemporaries he will remain a nullity unworthy of the position he took on. Can it be even lower? We’ll see”concluded Chirilă, leaving room for reflection on the impact that Iohannis had on Romanian politics.
