This western had its world premiere in Poland on Wednesday. However, Alec Baldwin has stated that he refuses to see the “final cut” of the film in which he stars.

“I was sent an initial montage, before everything got a little more complicated. So I didn’t see the movie. But, again, I hope that the film will appear and bring money to its investors,” the actor told Variety at the Turin Film Festival. “The hardest thing I’ve ever had to deal with,” writes news.ro.

“And I hope that the film will be sold, and Matt Hutchins (Halyna’s husband) will receive his money. We all made a deal with him and we all want to honor it. But this idea that people (…) say: ‘Make a profit from this’ is totally false”said Alec Baldwin.

In turn, the victim’s friends and family boycotted the premiere of the film, accusing the actor of never apologizing to them and that “refuses to take responsibility for the death” the young woman.

The 66-year-old American actor described the fatal on-set accident, which occurred on October 21, 2021, as “the most difficult thing I had to face in my life”. “My wife was very, very traumatized by this. He suffered a lot”he told.

Following the fatal accident that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, production gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was sentenced in April to 18 months in prison for accidentally loading the actor’s gun with a live bullet.

Alec Baldwin’s manslaughter trial was thrown out due to a procedural irregularity, while bullets related to the case in the possession of investigators were not turned over to the defense. The film resumed filming in 2023 in Montana.
