The death of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the end of his regime are linked to many of the hopes of Ukrainians regarding the opening of a new page in world history. Vega Investments even decided to make a film on this topic, according to the Ukrainian publication OBOZ.UA.

The thriller Smert Putina (Official name: Putin; Eng: The Death of Putin), signed by the Polish director Patryk Vega, portrays the Kremlin leader not only as a tyrant, but also as a weak and scared man.

The production will be available in Ukrainian cinemas from January 16.

For now, the official Ukrainian trailer for the film has been released online.

Made using deepfake technology

The main character is played by Slawomir Sobala, nicknamed “Putin’s double”, and deepfake technology helped to ensure the visual authenticity of the main characters.

And the script was given special attention. The Polish director confessed that he made efforts to obtain privileged information from a psychiatrist who once worked with the Russian dictator.

According to the director, the film was a real challenge.

“The lack of access to real materials about Putin’s life forced us to look for innovative approaches. We hired experts in military affairs, quantum mechanics and architecture. In particular, I consulted with a NATO general who commanded troops in Iraq and AfghanistanVega stated.

Despite the title, the film does not focus only on the death of Putin, but focuses on the main stages of the development of the dictator’s personality.

The script includes stories from Putin’s childhood and details of his rise to power.

The main story should focus on the establishment and maintenance of an authoritarian regime in Russia, as well as the war in Ukraine. Therefore, the film goes beyond the story of one person, notes the Ukrainian publication.

Patryk Vega hopes that the film will give Ukrainian viewers hope and faith in victory.

Putin’s impersonators

Oboz.ua notes that, according to experts, it is not Putin, but his double who appears at official meetings and participates in various events in Russia on behalf of the dictator. Earlier, the head of the Defense Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, noted that the presence “clones” can be confirmed even by comparing their appearance at various events: the “Putins” have different facial features, facial expressions, gait, way of speaking and height, the source said.
