“In 2011, in the indifference of the media, I was starting the anti-plagiarism crusade. I knew exactly what I was doing, people looked at me strangely: “what else does he want?” Today, prominent politicians and present and past heads of the force structures – apparently intangibles – tremble at the word”the former minister wrote on Facebook.

He launched a challenge to the other contenders for the position of head of state.

“I ask the announced candidates (Crin Antonescu, Nicuşor Dan, Georgescu) to say, point by point, what they have done, concretely, in public life. Without a clear presentation of the balance sheet, we speak good, well-crafted words to the steamy electorate. I, when I led education, I started moral cleanliness. In this campaign, my key words are clarity and ethics: let the state tell you where we are going and stop lying to you.”Funeriu also wrote.

At the beginning of December, Daniel Funeriu launched a public question on Facebook, asking for people’s opinion on who should be the future presidential candidate. “Who are you putting on the list?” asked Funeriu, suggesting that a leader capable of addressing not only the economic but also the social and political needs of the country is needed.
