In the Health Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, the amendment of the Law on Reform in the field of Health, a change that should help develop hospitals in Romania, regardless of their form of subordination.

So far, the local authorities could finance only the hospitals under their direct subordination. By this modification, any administrative-territorial unit (locality, county, etc.) will be able to contribute to the development of a hospital in the community, even if it does not belong to them.
“Thus, the local authorities can participate in the financing of administration and operation expenses, respectively goods and services, investments, capital repairs, consolidation, extension and modernization, equipment with medical equipment of public or local health units, as well as of the units Public sanitary of national interest, of the clinical hospitals with university sections in the network of the Ministry of Health and of the hospitals subordinated to the accredited public universities in thoroughly motivated cases ”, says the deputy Alexandru Rogobete, the chairman of the Health Commission, former Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health.

According to the deputy, the modification of the law brings more investments in the modernization and endowment of hospitals, so that patients benefit from better conditions, but also faster access to quality medical services, close to home.
At the same time, there will be more collaboration between communities, for a more efficient and better funded medical system.
“What does this mean to communities? Greater flexibility and autonomy in support of essential medical units; the possibility to contribute to the extension and modernization of hospitals, regardless of the network they belong to; A better integrated medical system, adapted to local needs.
Through this initiative, we encourage local authorities to actively invest in health and to collaborate for a modern medical system, well equipped and accessible to all ”, the deputy Rogobete also states.
