Between 04 and 06 April 2025 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy, the 14th edition of the European Shotokan Skdun Karate Championship, a competition for top athletes (brown and black belts) took place.
At the same time, the 14th edition of the European Shotokan Skdun Karate Cup, a competition, for colored belts (white, yellow, green and blue) took place.
Romania was presented at these European competitions with a large lot of athletes, obtaining at the end of the competitions the 1st place in the general ranking of the nations both at the European Shotokan SKDUN 2025 karate championship and at the European Shotokan SKDUN 2025 Karate Cup.
The general ranking at the European Shotokan SKDUN 2025 karate championship is presented as follows:
1st place – Romania
2nd place – Bulgaria
3rd place – Azerbaijan
4th place – Moldova
5th place – Hungary
The ranking in the European Cup was thus, Romania in the 1st place, on the second place was Bulgaria, Hungary in 3rd place, Serbia took 4th and Belarus 5th place.
1073 athletes from 23 European countries participated in both competitions!
The delegation of Romania, led by Shihan Aurel Pătru, was represented by athletes from a number of 23 member clubs of the Romanian Martial Arts Federation, the SKDun department (Dinamo Bucharest, Concordia Chiajna, Aiko Bucharest, Tahoma, Akira, CSO Voluntari, Aiko-Shin, Pawatora, Karate Brad, Metallurgist, Busteni, Sakura Sinaia, Sakii Focșani, Sakura Carei, Unirea Focșani, Petrolul Ploiești, CS Dan Botezatu Bacău, Hidary, Hizashi, Tsunamy Brăila, Bacău Science, Sonkeifree and CSM Alexandria).
“A well -organized competition, with balanced, spectacular and well -trained athletes! SKDUN affirms each year as a serious international federation and becomes more and more important in the world of world karate,” said Shihan Aurel Pătru, Black Belt – 8 Dan.
The Skdun Karate Department is part of the Romanian Martial Arts Federation (Fram), the first profile federation established in 1990. This department is internationally affiliated at the International Federation of Shotokan Do of United Nations (SKDUN).
Starting with 2001 the Karate Skdun sports branch has known in Romania a permanent evolution and has achieved numerous and valuable results at international level, promoting Romanian sport.
The Skdun Karate Department is proud of over 1500 legitimate athletes, many of them components of the national Karate Skdun team.
