“Whoever sells his country once, will sell it the second time.” Fechet, after Ponta said he flooded Romanian villages to save Belgrade

The Minister of the Environment, Mircea Fechet, reacts as a result of the disclosures made by former Prime Minister Victor Ponta about flooding some Romanian villages. “The national interest is not for sale. Who sells its country once, will sell it the second time … if it has not already done it,” said Fechet.

“I know what it means to make decisions in critical moments. As a minister, I was put in boundary situations, in which the decision to create breaches in the dams, to save the lives of people, had to be taken quickly, together with the Ministerial Committee for Emergency Situations. It is a well-thought out decision, on which the specialists are pronounced, at the case of a county, at the case of the county, At night, it was about lightning -type floods, following precipitation with historical values, over 200 l/sqm. Says Mircea Fechet, in a Facebook post.

He also stressed that he put and will always put people’s lives and national interest in the first place in any decision.

“And not because I swore to do this, but because being a human means to remain man in any circumstance. To help, not to destroy. To extend a helping hand for Romanians, not to break them up.”says Fechet.

According to the Minister of the Environment, no emergency scenario, no matter how serious things are, does not ask you to sell your country.

“In whatever position you are. Because the national interest is not for sale! I am convinced that Romanians who love their country will never betray and no the hand of some traitors. As for Victor Ponta, the Romanian word applies: who sells his country once, will sell it for the second time … if he has not already done so ”, concluded Fechet.
