The newest Sociopol poll is putting the gold leader George Simion and the independent candidate Victor Ponta in round 2 in the presidential elections in May.

According to the poll conducted at the command of Romania TV, George Simion would rank with 35%, Victor Ponta would leave 22%, the candidate of the Crin Antonescu ruling coalition would obtain 17%, the independent candidate Nicusor Dan would obtain 14 percent -11 percent, and other candidates.
The sociopol survey was conducted on a sample of 1005 people, between 14 and 17 April 2025.
The method of collecting the data used was that of the telephone interviews (CATI), and the survey has an error margin of +/- 3.2% and was carried out at the command of Romania TV.
The Sociopol survey Institute is headed by Mirel Palada, a former spokesman in the Ponta government.
And in the previous polls conducted by Sociopol Victor Ponta and George Simion were placed on the first two places, with similar percentages. In fact, the gold candidate is favorite, his entry into the second round being a certainty, according to the surveys.
