According to Hotnews, the Ferrovie dello Stato Italian group (Italian railways) has provided 110,000 extra places per day on arrow and intercity trains, plus another 150,000 additional places in regional transport trains to arrive in Rome.

Regarding the air transport, the cost of a flight from South America to Rome has exceeded the ceiling of 3,000 euros, the prices being tripled.

Also, B&B rates increased to 2,500 euros per night, after which they will return to more “normal” levels next weekend.

Based on the checks carried out on Wednesday afternoon, consulting the main online platforms for reservation of accommodation facilities, the situation varies very much, with prices of all types, but in reality they are not too far from the Codacons findings.

Reaching accommodations, the minimum price for one night on April 26 is around 200 euros for a double room, up to a maximum of 2,000 euros, while for a B&B cost ranges from 143 to 1,012 euros per night, and reaches over 2,530 euros for a more luxurious apartment.

If, on the other hand, you book a room in the area of the Termini station today for the night of April 26, the cost in a pension reaches 487 euros, for a hotel you will spend up to 1,831 euros, and for an apartment 1,085 euros. If you choose the Aurelio area, one night at the hotel on April 26 costs from 100 to 503 euros, in an apartment from 150 to 670 euros, in a B&B from 127 to 211 euros.

An alternative would be the religious houses, coordinated by the Italian Association of Religious Hospitality, where the prices remain fixed throughout the year and where a double room costs 90 euros per night, breakfast included, and where by adding 15 euros per person you can take dinner.

If I do not find a place at these houses, those who want to come to Rome could opt for a travel to Hinterland, in places like Frasscati, Ladispoli and Tivoli where prices are certainly lower, although here they are increasing.

Even bars and restaurants risk being much more expensive, especially in the areas near the Vatican where users pressure increases vertiginously. But in many cases many business owners have already increased their prices on the occasion of the jubilee, so that a coffee served at the table in the city center can cost up to 4 euros, while in St. Peter area you will pay 8 URO, if you add a bottle of water, and if you opt for a dessert, then you will pay 10.
