The Copenhagen Tourism Office announced on Monday that it will provide advantages to the respective tourists, especially those who arrive by train in the capital of the Kingdom of Denmark, according to Agerpres.

The initiative, called Copenpay and tested on a lower scale in 2024, “It aims to sensitize tourists to travel more responsibly”explained the general manager of Wonderful Copenhagen, Soren Tegen Pedersen.

The emphasis is on transport, the most polluting sector. Travelers are encouraged to come by train and stay more than four days there. A first reward would be the opportunity to rent free bicycles from the points in the city.

In exchange for an action beneficial for the climate, tourists could also benefit from low -rate visits, yoga courses or free vegetarian meals.

Tourists will be informed about it with the help of advertising panels and advertisements available in the city and on social networks.

The campaign will start on June 17 and will last for nine weeks. In total, 90 places will participate in this campaign, in the Danish capital and in the surroundings, including the National Museum and the Copenhill Urban Ski runway.

According to Goboat, the service for renting electric motor boats powered with solar panels, participating in this experience allows the personal commitment to be displayed.

“Last year, 500 people were in a hurry to take advantage of our offer, which consisted of an hour by free boat, in exchange for the landmark in the waters of the port, I could not even satisfy the whole request.”one of the Business Offenders, Mads Pilegaard Sander, told AFP.

In 2024, in a month, 75,000 tourists participated in this experience.

Bicycle rental points increased by 29%, tons of waste were collected and 98% of participants said they recommend this initiative, stressed the Copenhagen Tourism Office.
