The Bolojan government would have, according to political sources, 16 ministries and three deputy prime ministers, in a period marked by economic crisis and budget pressures. Analysts explain whether such an extended structure is justified or represents only a bureaucratic oversized.

Ilie Bolojan, the prime minister appointed by President Nicuşor Dan, outlines his new government, after discussions with the pro-European parties. According to political sources, the future executive will have 16 ministries, the truth reported. Six of them will be led by PSD members, four by PNL and USR, and two by UDMR. Also, the new government could have no less than three deputy prime ministers.
“What does an oversized government mean?”
“Adevărul” discussed with two reputed political analysts, Professor Cristian Pîrvulescu, dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, and Cristian Hrițuc.
“The problem of administering a country is a problem that is not solved by ideological formulas that speak of oversized/under -dimensional governments. So it is a suitable government for a coalition in which four political parties are represented.”, Says Professor Cristian Pîrvulescu.
An under -dimensioned government or a few ministries is one that works only if the administration works, he says. “Or in Romania, the administration, strongly politicized and largely decredible, does not work. So more it takes. That is why it is the need for agencies and so on ”explains the political scientist.
Professor Pîrvulescu’s conclusion: “It is a suitable government for a situation as the current one in which a majority is needed to ensure the functioning of the government. Without a majority, in a democracy, the Government does not exist. I think the dictatorships can afford the most flexible governments because in the end only the boss matters.”
“It is normal to have a government with more deputy prime ministers”
Political analyst Cristian Hrițuc argues that the structure of the government reflects the parliamentary majority.
“It is normal to have a government in which there are more deputy prime ministers, due to the fact that we have a parliamentary majority composed of four parties and then for political balance, for the good functioning of the government need all parties to feel responsible and that they have real access to government political decisions. “
The analyst also talks about the importance of the ability to compromise.
“The policy of the future government also involves compromises between the ideological lines of the parties. We must understand that there will be less good compromises and decisions, because we do not have a monocol government and the quality of the government act will greatly learn the ability of the parties to make compromises. “he concluded.
