On Friday, July 11, the Ministry of Education will publish the hierarchy of eighth-grade graduates in the counties and in Bucharest, essential for admission to high school, one day after displaying the final results at the National Assessment, following the resolution of the appeals.
According to official data, the students’ rate with average higher than or equal to 5 increased slightly after appeals, reaching 83.2%, compared to 83.1%initially, and being considerably higher than in 2024, when it was 74.5%.
Also, the number of students who obtained the average 10 increased from 75 to 85, exceeding the level of last year (74 students with maximum average), according to the Ministry of Education.
“The national assessment is the way we test the skills acquired in the gymnasium, and the average obtained is the main criterion for admission to high school”, explains to the Ministry of Education.
The hierarchy will be available on the website admitre.edu.ro starting on Friday, July 11.
The stages of enrolling in high school
The first stage of admission to the high school begins on July 14, when students and parents, along with leaders, will complete the registration sheets, a process that will end on July 21. In the same interval they can complete the files and graduates who want to participate in admission in another county, the files to be transmitted according to the National Admission Commission procedure.
On July 23, the computerized distribution of candidates from the current series, as well as those in the previous series will take place.
Between July 24 and 29, the students will submit the registration files to the high schools where they were assigned, and the special situations will be resolved on July 30 and August 1 by the county commissions or the Bucharest Municipality Commission.
The second stage of admission, dedicated to students who did not participate in the first session, will take place between August 1 and 19.
Results to the National Assessment 2025
The rate of participation in the National Assessment was 95.6%, with 152,235 students present from the 159,229 registered. Of these, 16.8% (25,618 students) obtained averages below 5. Three students were eliminated, all at the Romanian language test, their works being noted with 1.
In Romanian, 86.5% of students obtained grades over 5 (131,999 students), of which 489 received grade 10, 15 more than before appeals.
In mathematics, 76.3% of students (116,251) obtained grades of at least 5, and 976 took the maximum note, 57 more than the first display.
In the mother tongue, 92.3% of students (8,365) had grades over 5, and 131 obtained note 10.
The highest percentages of the averages over 5 were registered in Bucharest (94%), Cluj (92.2%), Braila (89.4%) and Prahova (88.2%), while the smallest percentages were registered in Calarasi (70.6%), Teleorman (72.4%) and Mehedinti (72.6%).
Where averages of 10 were obtained
Bucharest had the most average of 10 (33), 10 of which only in sector 1. Follow the counties of Iași (8), Constanța (6), Brașov and Cluj (4), Timiș and Bihor (3). Other counties with two environments of 10 are Gorj, Dolj, Teleorman, Ilfov, Sibiu, Buzău, Brăila and Galați, while in counties such as Bacău, Vaslui, Vrancea, Prahova, Dâmbovița, Argeș, Vâlcea and Olt was a maximum average. In the rest of the counties no average of 10 were obtained.
Appeals
Regarding the requests for the visualization of the works, most were submitted for the Romanian language (24,515), followed by mathematics (21,264) and the mother tongue (930).
In total, 19,101 appeals were filed, representing 6.08% of the total works, the number being decreasing compared to 2024, when 27,640 appeals (8.76%) were registered.
Distribution on disciplines was as follows:
* Romanian language: 11,354 appeals (compared to 14,485 in 2024)
* Mathematics: 7,392 appeals (compared to 12,730 in 2024)
* Mother tongue: 355 appeals (compared to 425 in 2024)
Following the appeals, the notes increased for 11,648 works and decreased for 5,454, both figures being lower than last year.
In Romanian, in 78.75% of the re -evaluation cases, the difference between the initial and the final note was below 0.5 points, and 569 works remained with the same note.
In mathematics, 98.84% of the differences were below 0.5 points, and 1,410 works had no changes.
In the mother tongue, 69.3% of the reasons had differences below 0.5 points, and in the case of 20 works the notes remained unchanged.
