The suspect of the 37-year-old crime in Mureș is seven days by authorities because he would have killed his 23-year-old girlfriend. In an appeal to 112 it was announced on Sunday that the man had been seen near a gas station in Bistrița-Năsăud. The area was checked by law enforcement, but without concrete result, according to Digi24.
In parallel, two fishermen from Arad County claimed that they would have recognized the suspect, and checks there.
Also on Sunday, police officers have searched in several locations in Miheșu de Câmpie, in Mureș county, to people close to the suspect. Descends were made to the brother of the man sought, his sister, as well as at the home of a former girlfriend. However, none of these searches led to the identification or capture of the man.

Investigators suspect that Emil Gânj, described as an extremely dangerous individual, seems to have entered a game to hide with the authorities.
Police launched a public call: “Do not try to catch the suspect, but immediately call 112 if you see it. Emil Gânj is capable of extreme violence and can kill again if he feels threatened”.
The alleged criminal in Mureș is on the “Most Wanted” list of the Romanian Police. The searches continue, and the authorities verify in real time all the notifications received.
The killed woman had two orders to protect against the man and the police guard at night. On the evening of the crime, the suspect came to her immediately after the agents had left, killed her and set on the house where she left her body.
On March 4, 2024, he was preventively arrested for 30 days after violating the first protection order on his behalf, only that the victim gave up the complaint against him, and the man was released. On February 28, 2025, the woman obtained a new protection order, valid for 12 months. However, on April 30, the aggressor escaped arrest again, after the victim withdrew his complaint for the second time.
Subsequently, he disappeared and was given in national pursuit. He was issued an arrest warrant on his behalf. For violation of the order while it was valid, the aggressor was convicted by the Luduș Court. But it was not found.
On June 4, 2025 the Luduș Court issued the mandate for the execution of the sentence with imprisonment with no. 133 regarding Emil Gânj, he having to execute a sentence of 2 years and 1867 days of imprisonment, according to the Romanian Police.
