The Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest (FIUB) and the Institute for Political Studies of Defense and Military History (ISPAIM) signed on Friday, July 18, an agreement for the promotion of strategic culture, historical knowledge and civic education in the field of national security and defense.

Through this partnership, the two institutions intend to strengthen the connection between the civil academic environment and the specialized institutions in the research of military history and strategic studies. The agreement provides for the development of common scientific projects, organizing conferences and academic events, but also mutual support for the accomplishment of educational and public dialogue, the Ministry of National Defense said on Friday.

During the collaboration, ISPAIM will offer students from the Faculty of History the opportunity to participate in internships and scientific activities carried out by the Institute, including in partnership with other organizations in the field. Also, students will be able to get involved in research projects dedicated to military history and security culture, having direct access to specialized resources and professional experience.

Sorin-Dan Moldovan, Secretary of State and Head of the Department for the Defense, Planning and International Relations policy, welcomed this initiative, emphasizing the importance of consolidating the dialogue between the civil and military academic environment, in an international context marked by security challenges. He pointed out that understanding history and developing a solid strategic culture are essential for a responsible civic consciousness and for the formation of new generations of specialists in security and military history.
