If it was initially charged that he had suffered a heart attack while he was in the air, now, the investigators have launched a new hypothesis: the death would have been caused by the room mounted on Motodeltaplan.

From a first reconstruction of the events, it turned out that Baumgartner had installed a video camera on Motodeltaplan, to shoot from behind, fixing it with a twine and controlling it through a mini autopilot, writes Il Resto del Carlino.

Therefore, either due to a blockage in the air, or because of a sudden maneuver, the room has reached the propellers, causing the wing collapse and the collapse of the flight apparatus.

Baumgartner tried to activate the emergency parachute, but was already at too low altitude, and the system did not have time to open. This reconstruction is to be confirmed by the technical expertise commanded by the Prosecutor’s Office, which opened a file in REM.

However, the accident hypothesis is also supported by the testimonies of two persons who saw the device in the fall and who were heard by the carabinieri on the spot.

I saw the appliance falling empty and was spiral. The wing, which normally stays above, was completely mototolite ”, tells a tourist who witnessed the scary scene.

When I saw him crashing, It was not very far from the ground. I am passionate about paragliding and, in my opinion, it was not a heart attack or other medical episode. Such a steep fall, as I saw, can be caused only by a technical malfunction ”, Tell another witness.

The Austrian champion, who became famous after jumping from the edge of the space, fell and hit a wooden structure near the crowded pool of Le Mimose. In the fall, Baumgartner crashed into an employee of the hotel. She was urgently transported to Murri Hospital, but her condition is not serious, according to reports.

Baumgartner was regularly on the front page of newspapers with his stunts. He became famous in 2012, when he jumped from the stratosphere to a height of 39 kilometers, breaking several records in this process.
