Kaufland Romania, in partnership with the University “December 1, 1918” in Alba Iulia, launches for the first time in Romania the Dual University Study program in the operational logistics within the Faculty of Economic Sciences – an educational project with applied structure, which combines the academic training offered through the university courses with the practical training carried out directly in the company.
The program, the first of its kind in Romania, offers young people the opportunity to obtain a bachelor’s degree in the field of operational logistics, while benefiting from concrete professional experience in one of the largest retail companies in the country. The students admitted to the program will alternate the theoretical courses, held at the “December 1, 1918” University in Alba Iulia, with work in work at the Kaufland Logistic Center in Turda.

Academic and practical training, in parallel
The studies are carried out for a period of 3 years, in dual regime, so that 50% of the training takes place within the University, where the students acquire fundamental theoretical knowledge, and 50% takes place in the real economic environment, at the Kaufland Turda logistics, a modern and semi-automatic logistics platform, which offers the participants.
Kaufland Turda logistics center covers an area of 98,000 square meters and serves stores in the northwest, north and center of the country. It also includes an automated hall of over 7,000 square meters, with a storage capacity of over 30,000 Europallets, fully electronically managed.

The first program of this type of Romanian higher education
The “December 1, 1918” University of Alba Iulia is the first institution of higher education in Romania that introduces the operational logistics in a dual university regime.

During the three years of studies, students benefit from a study contract throughout the program, along with a monthly scholarship offered by Kaufland, which can be cumulated with the State Stock Exchange. During the practice periods, they will have free transport and meal provided by Kaufland, as well as constant support by individualized mentoring from the company specialists. Participation in the program offers them a valuable professional experience in the field of logistics, and in the end, students will obtain a license diploma recognized by the Ministry of Education and Research. Also, the entire practice period is recognized as an age in work, giving them a concrete advantage in the debut of the professional career.
At the end of the program, graduates can occupy the roles of specialists or managers in areas specific to logistics.
