Openai announced on X that the latest model with experimental reasoning of the company would have obtained the gold medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad.
A few hours, Google also posted a similar message, saying that an advanced model of the company has solved five of the six test problems, which also corresponds to the gold medal, according to News.
The achievements seem to demonstrate the rapid advances that the artificial intelligence models have recently made with the so-called reasoning, which some researchers say is not reasoning in the true sense of the word.
Last year, Google took the silver medal at the same International Mathematics Olympiad.
Google, however, doubts the opening of Openai, saying that the developer Chatgpt did not comply with the requirement of the organizers, to announce the results only after they are verified by independent experts.
Openai defends himself by saying that he did not know about this requirement and hired a different team of independent specialists to verify the results.
