A “hostile extraterrestrial ship” approaches the earth. What researchers say about the controversial interstellar object

A mysterious intergalactic object could actually be an extraterrestrial spacecraft “Ostila” which would attack our planet in November, according to a new controversial study by a small group of scientists.

Researchers believe it could be a UFO archive UFO

“The consequences, if the hypothesis will prove correct, could be potentially disastrous for humanity”the researchers wrote in the new work, according to the New York Post.

The interstelary object, called 3i/Atlas, was discovered on July 1 and moves to the Sun at a speed of over 209,000 km/h, according to Live Science. Less than 24 hours after the discovery, it was confirmed as an interstellar object, the first observations suggesting that it could be a comet with a diameter of up to 24 kilometers – larger than Manhattan Island.

Possible extraterrestrial technology

However, in the new study, the three researchers propose a different hypothesis: that the object could actually be a piece of extraterrestrial spy technology, disguised.

One of the authors of the study is AVI Loeb, a renowned astrophysician from Harvard, known for his theories about the existence of extraterrestrial life. It has previously aroused controversy claiming that the interstellar object ʻoumamua, discovered in 2017, could have been an artificial probe sent by an extraterrestrial civilization, given its strange form and unexplained acceleration.

In the current study, conducted together with Adam Hibberd and Adam Crowl, members of the Interstellar Studies Initiatives, Loeb claim that the trajectory of 3i/Atlas indicates a possible artificial origin.

The three researchers draw attention to the unusually high speed of the object – significantly higher than that of ʻoumamua or other interstellar bodies – and on the different angle from which it entered our solar system. They say, they would provide “Various advantages of an extraterrestrial intelligence”according to a blog post of Loeb.

One of these “Advantages” It would be the fact that 3i/Atlas will approach Jupiter, Mars and Venus, which would theoretically allow the discreet placement of spy devices on these planets.

The hypothesis of “dark forest”

When the alleged undercover UFO will reach the closest point to the Sun (Perihelion) in November, it will become invisible on Earth.

“This could be intentional, to avoid detailed observations with telescopes from the ground, precisely when the object is the brightest or when devices are sent to that hidden point.”Loeb explained.

If this anomaly would prove to be a “Technological Art”this fact could support the hypothesis the dark forests (Dark Forest), which suggests that we have not yet detected extraterrestrial civilizations because they are intentionally hiding to avoid predators or other risks.

Loeb warns that in this context, an attack would be “possible” and could require taking some “Defense measures”.

The problem is that 3i/Atlas moves too quickly so that a terrestrial ship can intercept it before leaving the solar system.

“It is, therefore, impractical for the lands to reach 3i/atlas at the slightest distance from us, using chemical missiles, as our best rockets can reach at most one third of its speed.” the researcher explained.

Other scientists are skeptical

However, other scientists reject the theory of the extraterrestrial origin of the object, saying that everything indicates to an ordinary comet.

“All evidence shows that it is a normal comet, which was expelled from another solar system, as well as in our system billions of comets were expelled.”told Live Science Samantha Lawler, astronomer at the University of Regina in Canada, specialized in the dynamics of the solar system.

Even Loeb recognizes, in his post, that the theory with the extraterrestrial probe is “Little probable”: “The most likely conclusion is that 3i/Atlas is a completely natural interstellar object, most likely a comet”.

The researchers also warned readers to take the work with a dose of skepticism, because it has not yet been evaluated by other specialists.

“This work starts from a remarkable hypothesis, but – as we will show testible, which the authors do not necessarily support, but which are worth analyzed and presented.”the authors said. “The hypothesis is interesting in itself and it is a funny intellectual challenge, regardless of the likelihood that it is valid.”

However, critics believe that their project compromises the work of other scientists, who have gathered sufficient evidence that 3i/Atlas does not announce a third -degree meeting.

“Astronomers from all over the world have been enthusiastic about 3i/Atlas and collaborate using advanced telescopes to learn as much about this visitor.”told Live Science Chris Lintott, astronomer at Oxford University, who contributed to the simulation of the galactic origin. “Any suggestion that it would be artificial is a crying nonsense and an insult brought to the extraordinary research work that is being done at this time.”
