In full summer season, dozens of solar creams were urgently withdrawn from the market after toxic substances and microbiological contaminations that endanger consumers’ health, warns infoCons.

So far, in full summer season, when the beaches are full of those who want to have a relaxation and sun cure, the European authorities have issued over 30 alerts on dangerous sunscreen. The InfoCons organization recently pointed out that many such products have been withdrawn from stores in Romania, because they contain prohibited chemicals or are contaminated with dangerous bacteria.
Withdrawn products
Detailed risks associated with these products indicate that 86.67% of them have chemical risks, 10% are affected by microbiological contaminations, and 3.33% can cause skin burns.
Among the withdrawn creams are:
* Leococrema – Latte prostotivo Idratante SPF 50which contains 2- (4-tăterț-Butilbenzil) propionedehyde (BMHca), a prohibited substance in the European Union because it can negatively affect the reproductive system and present risks to the fetus, in addition, can sensitize the skin’s skin.
* At Biosthetique® – Soleil Cremewhich contains the same BMHca toxic substance, with carcinogenic and irritating potential.
* Nivea – Sun Protect & Refresh Spray It is also affected by the presence of BMHCA, and, although it is promoted as a “invigorating” product, it can have direct toxic effects.
* Diassar – Sunscreen Lotion Max Sun 90+ declares a SPF 90+, but the actual value is only 2.2. This can lead to sunburns, photo -aging and an increased risk of skin cancer, and the product is valid until 2029, which means it can remain on the market for many years.
* In creams
lens shade Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria has been identified, which can cause infections and irritation, especially if applied to damaged or face skin.
*AVA LABORATORIUM – EXTRA MOISTURIZING CREAM SPF 25 It was contaminated with the Escherichia Coli bacteria, which can generate serious infections, especially in sensitive areas, such as around the eyes or on open wounds.
InfoCons appeals to increased vigilance for consumers and recommends carefully checking the ingredients and lot numbers of the purchased products. It is also advisable to consult the European Safety Gate platform for updated alerts and to avoid shopping from unauthorized sellers or from sites with dubious reputation.
“All the products reported in the European alert system have a direct degree of risk for each of us”, Warns InfoCons representatives, emphasizing the importance of protecting health in the summer season.
