The largest online platform for sex education and gender education in Romania is back with a project meant to improve general access to information on sexual health and women’s rights.
Sex vs Barza launches 20 educational videos for young photo shutterstock
The project is supported by Tiktok and involves the development of 20 educational videos by the end of 2025, which will be published on Tiktok, Instagram, Youtube and Facebook.
10 videos about adolescent sexual health
Starting from the conclusions and perspectives discovered in their own information and support service that has served over 6,300 young people over the past 6 years, the Sex VS Barza Association develops 10 videos that addresses the most common problems and concerns about sexual health.
Materials will cover topics such as: managing anxiety about the onset of sexual life, reflection on sexual orientation and the possibility of combing out, obsessive fear of becoming pregnant, situations in which a partner threatens to publish intimate photographs, relationship with a partner or how the first visit to the gynecologist arises.
“Over time, adolescents have written us with similar problems and questions, because, unfortunately, the situation of access to sex education does not improve, and even deteriorates gradually. We realized that, by approaching these topics in a series of educational video materials, within reach of all, we will be able to help an even greater number of young people to inform and, at the same time, we will be able to encourage them to ask for help, talk about health problems considered taboo and call our information and support service anytime they need“says Adriana Radu, president of the Sex VS Barza Association.
The information and support service is free and confidential, and the association’s psychologist responds to all messages, from Monday to Friday, between 12:00 and 14:00, on Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook.
10 videos about girls and women’s rights
The other 10 educational materials will analyze the impact of legislative initiatives on the lives of girls and young women.
The subjects include: the price of menstrual products, the hiring of victims of violence or human trafficking, the classification of psychological violence, the law of femicide and the proposals for the online protection of minors.
These aspects are subject to recent legislative changes, monitored by the Sex VS Barza Association through its presence in the Plenum of the Economic and Social Council of Romania. Videos will contribute to informing young people about the rights of girls and women in a context in which, according to the “study of young people in Romania 2024. Opinions, fears and aspirations of young people, in a Romania of social inequalities”, opinions on women’s rights are increasingly polarized, and most young people believe that their interests are not well-represented.
